2. Sing us a Song! - When you are ready, a member of the music staff will "voice place" you to determine which part is best suited to your vocal range. See Barbershop 101 for more information on each of the 4 parts. You will be asked to sing a scale, harmonize to a simple tune such as "You are My Sunshine" and sing a few bars of a song of your choice. That's it!
3. Learn a new Song! - If you've decided to join us on the risers and the audition window is open, we'll give you sheet music and a learning CD for a song in our current repertoire. You will have two weeks to learn all the notes and words. The word "audition" sounds a little scary, but this one is easy. (Imagine American Idol where all the judges are Paula!) Keep in mind, we've all been through it too! If you need any help with the music, there are plenty of people to give you lots of Rich-Tone LUV! If the audition window is closed, you may continue visiting rehearsals until the next audition window is open.
4. Have Fun! - The Rich-Tones work hard to achieve a level of excellence that is unsurpassed, but we have a great time while we do it! As a new member, you'll be assigned a "Riser Buddy" to help answer all of your questions and guide you through your first competition with the chorus.
